AGES/GRADES: Males, primarily 11-18, grades 6-12.
THERAPEUTIC SERVICES: Individual, group, and family therapy with psychiatric consultation; milieu treatment plans designed to capture success and limit problematic behaviors; special education (approved for ED, OHI, ASD, SLD).
THERAPEUTIC ORIENTATION: Therapeutic milieu rooted in a relational, strengths-based approach and cognitive behavioral interventions. Psychodynamic and other family therapy formulations inform the work with the student and family. Wediko clinicians work closely with the student’s family and referring professional with the goal of returning the student to his home and community, or a less restrictive school, as soon as possible.
POPULATION SERVED: Students who are struggling with complex psychological profiles and disruptive behaviors. Often, students do not fit neatly under the criteria of a specific diagnosis or they have been diagnosed with multiple disorders including, but not limited to: depression and/or other mood disorders, anxiety disorders, ADD/ADHD, attachment disorder, PTSD, ASD (Level 1, high functioning Asperger’s) and NVLD.
