THERAPEUTIC SERVICES: Community-based therapy (therapists have close working relationships with our staff); ample support in the form of one-on-one weekly advising, wellness groups, and small class size and tight community which allow for frequent, meaningful staff-student interactions.

THERAPEUTIC ORIENTATION: Students in need of social, emotional, and academic structure and support. While officially not a therapeutic school, students are provided a safe, caring, and accepting environment, authentic connections with staff and peers, opportunities to be held accountable for their actions, a chance to feel success, and room to grow academically and personally. Access to community-based therapeutic services.

POPULATION SERVED: Students who have not found success in school due to a number of academic, social and emotional challenges including ADHD, low self-esteem, anxiety, low-level depression, executive function deficits, social struggles, loss, and/or adoption. They are often searching for meaning and purpose in their lives, and yearn for acceptance for who they genuinely are. Our students are often stepping down from a more therapeutic setting.

LICENSURE: VT Department of Education and New England Association of Schools and Colleges.

COMMENTS: Situated on the shores of Lake Champlain, two miles from downtown Burlington. Students have access to theater, sport events, community service projects, skiing and snowboarding, travel (Boston, NY, Montreal), various art offerings, and much more. Rock Point focuses on building social skills, academic strengths, confidence, healthy relationships, and independent living skills, helping our students become their best selves.
