Autism Spectrum Disorder Program

AGES/GRADES: Males and females ages 6-21 in a 7 day a week, year round MA Dept. of Education & Care approved program, private 766 program, fully approved by the MA Dept. of Elementary & Secondary Education.
THERAPEUTIC SERVICES: Speech/OT services, visual schedules, communication training, life and social skills instruction and scripts, therapeutic recreation, sensory integration resources, Autism Curriculum Encyclopedia (ACE/NECC) pre-vocational skill building, medical and psychiatric services.
THERAPEUTIC ORIENTATION: ABA driven, individualized instruction integrated throughout the school and residential component. An evidence-based practice, ABA positively improves learning for students at varying levels on the autism spectrum. To maximize and enhance the effectiveness of services, the New England Center for Children has been retained to provide consultation, training and development.
POPULATION SERVED: Autism and individuals with developmental disabilities and severe behavioral difficulties.

Brookside Intensive Treatment Unit

AGES/GRADES: Females ages 6-21 in a 7 day a week, 12 month a year MA Dept. of Education & Care, private 766 program, fully approved by the MA Dept. of Elementary & Secondary Education.
THERAPEUTIC SERVICES: Individual, group and psychiatric services, as well as adventure-based counseling available on site. Complete diagnostic and assessment services, including risk assessments.
THERAPEUTIC ORIENTATION: Trauma-informed care. Collaborative problem solving/strength based approach. DBT. Skills for Life Treatment model.
POPULATION SERVED: Autism, behaviorally disordered, emotionally disturbed, fire setters, learning disabled, mood disorder, reactive attachment disorder, sex offender.

COMMENTS: Located in Great Barrington, MA. the ITU serves as a diagnostic and assessment unit for incoming females who are in need of this service, as well as a hospital diversion program for students already placed at one of our programs in acute behavioral crisis. 1:1.5 staff to student ratio, with 1:1 staffing available as needed. Step down options available to other Hillcrest Programs. Accredited in Behavioral Health Care by the Joint Commission.
Fernbrook Boys’ Program

THERAPEUTIC SERVICES: Individual and group therapy, pre-vocational skill building, medical and psychiatric services.
THERAPEUTIC ORIENTATION: Trauma-informed care and treatments, collaborative problem solving/strength based approach, DBT, Skills for Life Treatment model.
