Job: Assistant Teaching Professor in Clinical Psychology (Dartmouth, MA)
The Department of Psychology in the College of Arts & Sciences at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth invites applications for an Assistant Teaching Professor position in Clinical Psychology starting in September 2025. The successful candidate will have a 4:4 load and may teach Graduate Clinical Supervision courses (e.g., Practicum/Internship), Child/Family Therapy, Theories of Psychotherapy, and Multicultural Counseling. This is a 9-month, non-tenure-track position with primary responsibilities for undergraduate and graduate classroom and online instruction, undergraduate advising, and university service. Faculty will teach a 4:4 load. The initial appointment is for two years, with the possibility of renewal and continuous appointment.
Duties:
It is expected the successful candidate will be an engaging and effective teacher with a strong commitment to student learning and success. Responsibilities include teaching graduate and undergraduate level clinical psychology courses; implementing inclusive and evidence-based teaching and learning approaches to ensure the academic success of a diverse population of students; collaborating with faculty to enhance curriculum; providing academic advising; and participating in university service activities. The successful applicant will also be expected to remain clinically active to maintain clinical skills and contacts
Minimum Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Psychology or a closely related field
- At least three years of postdoctoral clinical experience and understanding of community mental health
- State licensure or the capacity to become licensed in Massachusetts as a Psychologist – Health Service Provider is required
- Clinical experience and knowledge of community mental health policy and practice
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis
Preferred Qualifications:
- More than three years of postdoctoral clinical experience is preferred
- The ideal candidate will have both adult and child clinical experience.
- Experience with teaching at the college level and demonstrate excellent potential in teaching and clinical supervision, and interest and ability to teach internship courses at the graduate and undergraduate levels.
- Knowledge of local community agencies is desirable.
- The ideal candidate will demonstrate evidence of successful work with individuals from diverse backgrounds
- Candidates who fit with our philosophy of training students in the use of empirically supported treatments such as behavior therapies, CBT, DBT, etc.
Salary: $70,000-$74,000
